Recognition of Soccer Players after Occlusions using Temporal Color Signatures

چکیده

This paper deals with the automatic assignment of players’ identities in images of sport scenes. The task to correctly assign a player id to one unique player over many frames remains a challenging task as the players usually wear nearly identical jerseys and therefore generate visually similar appearances. If low image resolutions prohibit a direct jersey number recognition, tiny visual differences between the players like shoe, hair or skin colors can still support the recognition process. We propose a novel system which gathers such visual differences of players over multiple frames and allows for a successful identification of players. Results are presented in the context of a merge and split handling module of a player tracking system where the recognition can significantly improve the correct assignment of players after ambiguous merge and split situations.

The Effects of Short-Duration High-Intensity Soccer Fatigue Simulation on Dynamic Balance and Lower Limb Isokinetic Strength in Youth Soccer Players

Background. This study investigated the effects of short-duration high-intensity simulation of soccer fatigue on the dynamic balance and isokinetic strength of the lower limbs in youth soccer players. Methods. Thirty-nine youth soccer players completed a high-intensity fatigue simulation in 5-min. The participants performed tests on dynamic balance and isokinetic strength before the fatigue si...

Compare sequence of joint motion and muscle electromyography between low drive and high drive soccer instep kick

The purpose of this study was to examine the difference between two types of the soccer instep kick in temporal sequence of motion and muscle electromyography, during forward swing phase of the kick. Ten elite soccer players, volunteered as subjects in the study. To culculate the kinematics data, we used DLT method with two video camera that filmed five markers fixed on anatomical points o...

Comparing the Kinematics of the Lower Limb Joints in Jump-Landing Maneuver Among Soccer Players With and Without Histories of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Background: Jumping and landing are common activities in soccer, i.e., associated with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in the players, especially when experiencing fatigue. The current study aimed to compare the kinematics of the lower limb joints in jump-landing maneuver among soccer players with and without a history of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Methods: Among acti...
